Meeting the Mets in Florida Port St. Lucie is a thriving community that happens to be one of the fastest growing cities in the country, despite having been recently hit by three major hurricanes in two years (truly a testament to Americans’ never-give-up attitude). It is a pleasant little town, much like many of the other settlements that dot Florida’s Treasure Coast – it is a place to go to get away from the club-dominated culture of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. That’s not to say there is nothing to do here – St. Lucie has a number of annual events that are quite charming, from their Oktoberfest to their kids’ fishing tournament. As a matter of fact, Port St. Lucie has something no other city in Florida (and only one other city in the world) can offer: The New York Metropolitans.
